Cool and Not So Cool

Cool and Not So Cool

This ice hovercraft school bus has to be the coolest and worst news ever to descend upon children all over the world. I mean, I would have loved to go to school in one of these spiffy snowspeeders powered by dual fan engines. But imagine a childhood without snow days. Maybe this isn’t that cool after all.

    EyeClops Night Vision Goggles

    EyeClops Night Vision Goggles

The EyeClops Night Vision goggles let you see in total darkness using infrared lights, all while giving you that special Terminator look. Two attachments allow visibility 10 or 20 feet ahead—the 10-footers give off no light, the 20s show some small red dots. I tried them on in a pitch black room and saw every poster on the wall easily. They’re $80, and they’ll be out sometime this fall.

I’m still waiting on real X-Ray specs but these will do for now. [EyeClops]

      Futuristic Peruvian Riot Gear

A not so long time ago …. In a Galaxy not so far away …. Peru to be exact,
The Peruvian government unveiled their Storm Trooperish riot gear in Lima last Sunday.
I’d love to see the cops in Brooklynn New York wearing these. I wonder if they come in sizes xxx.

        It’s a Pen …No It’s a Text Messenger!

        pen Text Messenger

The D:Scribe is a pen that digitizes your writing to send as a text message. You write whatever you want, circle the name of the recipient, and the pen sends the data to your cell phone via Bluetooth, which in turn fires off the text or email message. The current status of messages is displayed on the pen’s little OLED display.

This is a really cool idea. I would actually use something like this because my stubby fingers hate text messaging. I’m hoping it could decipher my chicken scratch tho!

          Toast Me a Message

          Message Toaster

Nothing gets you going in the morning like a cup of joe and a piece of toast slathered in butter or jam. Of course, it can also be the time of day when things are hectic to start. Kids running around, people in and out, everyone trying to remind everyone else about the super important soccer meet after school. Next time, put it on toast.

This toaster by Sasha Tseng incorporates a little message board where one can read quick notes. The message also gets “toasted” into the toast itself so it gives new meaning to “read while you eat”.

Of course if I had it my way, I’d use it as a scathing reminder to friends suffering from hangovers. Yes, this piece of toast will help settle your stomach buy not without first reading my warnings about binge drinking.
