Toast Me a Message
Written by Tyler on February 17, 2008 – 11:20 pm -
Nothing gets you going in the morning like a cup of joe and a piece of toast slathered in butter or jam. Of course, it can also be the time of day when things are hectic to start. Kids running around, people in and out, everyone trying to remind everyone else about the super important soccer meet after school. Next time, put it on toast.
This toaster by Sasha Tseng incorporates a little message board where one can read quick notes. The message also gets “toasted” into the toast itself so it gives new meaning to “read while you eat”.
Of course if I had it my way, I’d use it as a scathing reminder to friends suffering from hangovers. Yes, this piece of toast will help settle your stomach buy not without first reading my warnings about binge drinking.

$100 Bottled Water
Written by Tyler on February 5, 2008 – 9:34 am -
Funny how the richest-of-the-rich share a near insane passion for water with the famine-hit poorest-of-the-poor of the world! I’d understand if someone from a sub-Saharan desert state paid big bucks for a bottle of water, but why would anyone pay that kinda money to have a sip of water in Tokyo is beyond me! Apparently Bling Water is all the rage in the elite circles these days and Osaka-based super-glam bottled water brand Fillico Beverly Hills just upped the ante for other water brands with their $100-a-bottle water. Featuring a frosted glass bottle decorated with Swarovski crystals and etched with gold paint, the bottle retails for double the price if you decide to opt for a silver or gold crown! The water comes from a natural spring in Kobe and the bottle sells at the exclusive Ritz Carlton in Tokyo. For that kinda price you’d think the water will have properties that make you immortal or lets you stay young forever but it just does what regular tap water does-quench thirst.

The Greatest Invention of Mankind?
Written by Tyler on February 1, 2008 – 4:09 am -I’m going to take advantage of that and share with you my recent life changing experience.
It compares to what a caveman may have felt when he first discovered fire. I feel all young and new again that a change this big has happened in my lifetime.
I’ve lived out side the Us for the past several years, just returning a few months ago. While shopping in my local Wallmart, looking for a big bag of coffeee to grab, This vision caught my eye.
I thought it read “Self Heating Container”?
On double take and closer look it did say that! I continued to read in disbelief. I read the instructions briefly, no assembly or tools required, ok..bonus.
I start to wonder how good this freak of food industry can actually be. A hand reached beside me to grab a can of French Vanilla Latte. It was attached to an older women with child in cart.
I begged her pardon and asked her if she has ever tasted this miracle before? She replied by saying she swears by it. “At $2.00 a can she says, unfortunately it’s more a treat for me” she continued.
Her testimony was enough for me. I grabbed roughly 8 cans of assorted flavors and high tailed it to the checkout counter, smiling like the cat who swallowed the mouse.
On route I noticed the same brand and technology but as a soup! To be honest, I’m not a soup guy, Chunky Soup if I must have it so I moved on, in lo less admiration though.
I paid for my coffee, a few cans of Chef Boyardee Raviolis, a six pack of bottled water and a box of Blueberry Pop Tarts. At the register they nailed me with the usual upsells, Candy sugar coated Fruit Slices and a box of Marlboro Lights. As you can see I am on a strict Bachelors diet.
Upon arriving home, I dump the bags on the counter and reach right for a can of elixir. I randomly pulled out a Double Shot Latte..Score!
I read the instructions, Turned the can over, popped the top, waited ten seconds and turned the can over. I was instructed next to wait a few minutes or until this pink dot turned white.
I used this few minutes to unpack the remaining groceries.
To my sheer delight, the pink circle had in fact turned white! The can was hot to the touch. I turned the lid as instructed, popped the lid and sure enough, I had in front of me
a cup of coffee to die for. Just the righ mix, it didnt need any further sugar or cream. I was amazed how they knew how I liked my coffee. I sat down to squeeze in my daily blog updates and before I knew it
I had busted out all my work in minutes on my sugar and caffeine high.
I can think of a million uses for this portable self heating technology. I promise you this.. we are in for some cool changes in the very near future in regards to the way we heat things up.
