nokia 888 concept phone

Who would have ever thought Cell Phones would be so cutting -edge as they are now.
Remember when there were only Car Phones with rumors and dreams that one day everyone could afford a personal
take anywhere cellular phone? Well, those days have come and gone and in a few short years we are wearing our phones as accessories.
So it’s only fitting to introduce one of my personal favorites of all time, The Nokia (of course) 888 Communicator.

The Nokia 888 is a striking futuristic concept phone. The phone, which uses liquid batteries, speech recognition, flexible touchscreen and touch-sensitive body cover,is designed by Tamer Nakisci and won the Nokia Design Award. Checkout the video presentation made by Nokia below.

By the way, this is a concept phone which means it may be or may never be for sale.
Please don’t ask me where to get one or how much. If I knew that I’d be sporting one myself  :)

    Rinspeed sQuba Diving Car

    Rinspeed sQuba Diving Car

Fantasies of James Bond’s underwater exploits running through your head? Thanks to Rinspeed’s Squba, you can make your fantasies real - provided you have a suitably adventurous companion and a desire to submerge a perfectly good Lotus, of course. Now the real thing is getting ready for Geneva.

A zero-emission vehicle, the sQuba has the capability to drive on land, on water and up to 10m under water. Thanks to its Lotus chassis, the sQuba moves like a cat on land, and with Swiss firm Esoro’s help, it moves like a fish underwater. The first step in the process was removing the car’s dependance on air - so the petrol motor was out, and electric motors were in. Next the car had to be sealed air tight - electricity and water don’t mix, after all - although the open top means the passenger compartment is flooded when under water. Power comes from lithium-ion batteries - and the zero-emission status of the car is reinforced by another Bond gadget: a rotating license plate in the rear.

While underwater, the car is powered by SeaBob jet drives that reside in directional nozzles on the sides of the vehicle. Three motors provide propulsion, one on land and the other two in the water. Occupants breathe from an integrated compressed air tank similar to those used by scuba divers. The open top of the vehicles isn’t just for sun-and-surf cruising: if things get ugly underwater, the open top makes for easy exit - and when you’re being chased by evil super-villains, things have a tendency to get ugly.

      Flameless Rechargeable USB Lighter

      Flameless Rechargeable USB Lighter

In lieu of lighter fluid and a flint, this lighter uses resistance coils to create heat. It’s the same technology found in car lighters. The small rechargeable battery cell powering the coil can be recharged via USB. On top of that, there’s some flash memory in there to store files. Damn, might as well give it a couple swiss blades and a nose hair trimmer to complete the package. And Kool? Doesn’t anyone still smoke those?

        DELL XCS

Designed by Matthew Ritter, the Dell XCS is a modular desktop concept that encapsulates its hardware components and conceals the circuit boards for a sleek futuristic look.

Each component is a modular and shaped so that it cannot be inserted into the wrong place. A number system was also developed to replace confusing specifications that are present on today’s software

           A Voyeurs Dream Come True

Digital cameras will continue to get smaller and smaller so long as technology successfully miniaturizes high quality optics. The Canon Snap concept is a look into what a future device might look like. The Snap is tiny enough to wear on your finger yet powerful enough to give today’s bigger cameras a run for their money. The single button interface makes it easy to take a picture at a whim’s moment. perfect for your stalker tendencies. Com’on now, you know you’ve got it in you. We all do.
